Earlier this month (May 2025), I had the amazing opportunity to celebrate Global Travel Agent Day at the stunning Sandals South Coast in Jamaica. It was an honour to be invited by Sandals to join this special event alongside fellow travel agents from across Canada and the U.S. – and what a memorable trip it was!
From the moment I landed, Jamaica was pure magic. And speaking of magic – imagine my surprise when I bumped into Zeina Gedeon, the CEO of Trevello – my host agency – right at the airport in Toronto! An unplanned encounter that kicked off the trip with the best kind of energy. I also connected with amazing industry colleagues, including the Director of Sales from Velas Resorts, the managing editor at PAXnews, and the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Unique Vacations/Sandals in Canada. You could say our flight turned into a mini networking summit at 30,000 feet!

Resort Hopping in Paradise
While I was based at Sandals South Coast – a dreamy adults-only escape with over-the-water bungalows that look like they belong on a postcard – I also had the pleasure of visiting Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril.
- Sandals Negril: Pure romance. This adults-only resort is intimate, laid-back, and ideal for couples who want barefoot luxury with a true island vibe. From beachside ceremonies to sunset dinners, this is the kind of place where wedding dreams unfold effortlessly.
- Beaches Negril: Perfect for families! As part of the Sandals brand, Beaches is geared toward multi-generational travel, and it shines when it comes to family-friendly weddings. Whether you’re planning a vow renewal with the kids in tow or a full wedding celebration where everyone from toddlers to grandparents is invited, Beaches makes it easy and elegant.
What’s even better? Beaches Negril and Sandals Negril are close enough to combine. So if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding with a mix of adults-only and family-friendly accommodations, this could be the perfect combo.
Sandals South Coast: A Wedding Haven
Back at Sandals South Coast, I was blown away by the beauty of the property. The over-the-water wedding chapel, the romantic Rondoval suites, the white-sand beach, and the sheer level of service made it clear why so many couples choose this location for their special day. It’s not just a resort – it’s a wedding destination in itself.
We were spoiled with incredible meals, picture-perfect weather, and plenty of activities, both for learning and leisure. From sightseeing to connecting with fellow agents and wedding specialists, it was the kind of trip that fills your soul (and your camera roll!).
